For most students, group classes are the best way to get started in Ballroom dancing, but as you get better a combination of all our activities is the most efficient way to learn.

We teach the most popular partner dances including Rhumba,Cha-cha, Swing, Salsa, Samba, Merengue, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and more.

Practice Parties

Practice what you're dancing and have a great time at our regular dance parties. Our weekly Thursday night practice sessions and monthly Saturday night Balls give you a chance to dance outside of class or private sessions and are a really fun and social way to practice what you learned in your lessons. You also get an opportunity to dance with a variety of people to improve your leading and following skills and, if you're a man, your navigation skills as well.

You also get to see students of all different levels dancing, see what advanced students are up to and see how far you've come by helping newer dancers.

Student performances, line dances, games and occasional teacher demos are all part of the fun.

Hours

Held every Thursday evening from 8:00 - 10:00 pm
Held one Saturday evening every month from 8:00 - 11:00 pm

Rates

$5 per person per visit. Dance Parties and Monthly Balls are FREE for First time visitors, all current group students, and private students, past or present.

Group Classes

Our group classes introduce steps and technical points, and give you a chance to practice with other dancers. We offer different levels of classes each building on the previous level: Newcomer, Beginner Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, 4 and Silver.

Our Newcomer group classes welcome people who have NEVER danced before to the world of ballroom dancing. Featuring the most popular Ballroom and Latin dances, these classes introduce you to the fundamentals of partner dancing and the basic steps you need to 'survive' on the dance floor. You won't be a pro after these classes, but you will have sense for the "feel" of each dance, and you will have enough material to be able to last-- dance--through an entire song.

Classes begin every month so if you missed the current set, you can still get started soon. Or if you're getting ready for a cruise or a special occasion, or you just can't wait to get started, we'll be happy to take you on with one of our private lesson programs.

Level 1 (Bronze I). This level requires the student to have some knowledge of the basic steps, timing and leading/following. At this point we will introduce you to a little more variety for the dances you already know as well as some of the more technical elements of Ballroom and Latin.

Level 2 (Bronze II). In the Bronze level II classes, we focus on one dance for each monthly session and add more complex steps as well as adding more technique such as footwork, cuban motion, rise and fall, sway and more advanced turns for the ladies.

Level 3, 4 (Bronze III & IV). These classes continue to add new and complex patterns and require the student to have a solid foundation in leading and following, good footwork, rise and fall and sway. Classes are divided into Smooth and Rhythm. Each month a different dance will be the focus of instruction.

Silver
In the Silver level smooth dances, you will begin to learn the “continuity style”. You will learn more intricate patterns, as well as further developing your technique.

Gold
The patterns introduced in the Gold level are much more complex. The student must have a good knowledge of all of the above mentioned techniques as well as the Bronze and Silver syllabus.

Performance Team
If you would love to perform, then this is the class for you! This class works as a team to produce a dance routine performed at one of our monthly balls or other outside events. This class does have a prerequisite. If you're interested or curious, please contact us!

Wedding Dances

Congratulations! It's best to prepare for your first dance with the same care you give to your invitation, gowns, catering, flowers and music. Start planning at least 6 months prior to your wedding date so that you can choose your special song, the type of dance you want to do, and take lessons before "wedding frenzy" sets in!

Private lessons are best as you will be able to dance exclusively with your fiance and choose your own music. If an orchestra will be playing your first song, we'll help you choose a recorded version to use during lessons and for practicing at home. Or bring us a recording you like and we'll help you determine if it's danceable and which dance best fits the music (Foxtrot? Waltz? Swing?). Your instructor will be happy to make suggestions regarding the music for your first dance.

Tailor your lessons, to your needs and schedule! Private lessons can be purchased singly, in discounted packages or in combination with group classes. We'll help you decide if a choreographed (planned) routine is best for you, or random patterns you choose during your lessons to be done spontaneously during your first dance.

Choosing shoes suitable for dancing is important if you want to move gracefully, so don't hesitate to discuss these matters with your instructor.

Inquire at the studio via phone or at the front desk about having our qualified instructors come and teach a lesson at your wedding. Often times, the people you invite may need a little ice breaker session to get them away from the tables and out on the floor. We'd be happy to send out a group of instructors to perform at your wedding also. It's a perfect form of entertainment for your guests.

Rates

Come in 6 weeks before your wedding and receive a free full 50-minute private lesson or a discount of 5 lessons for only $300!

Call us at 228.2800 to discuss your wedding plans.

Workshops

To complement our normal syllabus classes, we offer workshops that focus on a specific dance or dance skills and ideas. These specialty classes are a great way to become familiar with a particular dance or to develop quality and style in your dancing because the details are layered on top of foundation steps you will already know.
